"And whoever shall
force you to go one mile, go with him two."

| Ministry Vision: Academics,
mentoring, and Christ can unlock a brighter future for the youth
of today. The value of building relationships with youth has
been the spark that has sustained many organizations in our city. For
years, Tab has invested in the health, recreation, and social concerns
of our immediate community. Tutoring and mentoring youth
are not new ideas to Tab members. However, our format has slightly
changed to address the obvious academic and mentoring needs of the
youth in this community at this time. Mind … Body … and
Spirit – we have heard these three words over and
over again. There is simple truth in their association - a
key or hope for the future. |

| Volunteer Qualification: The
key qualification is a heart for the youth of today. Trained
educators will be on hand if you and your student have an academic
question! The “one on one” connection is heart
of this ministry. |
| |
| Program Goals and Review: One
adult per student. Last
year, we averaged each week 35 students and volunteers. Many
volunteers had a partner to rotate the time or to operate as their
permanent sub. A substitute base is critical to the success of this
program. From the beginning, I wanted to establish “no
guilt” ministry that would respond to a volunteer’s life
changing circumstances! Weekly, God provided an amazing pool
of volunteers to meet our volunteers’ and students’ needs. |

"Whatever
you do to the least of these, you do to me."
These words of Christ are
the central motivation for the volunteers of Tab's Community Ministries. Doing
more than just providing handouts, below are some of the ways that volunteers
of Community Ministries put their faith into action in the heart of Indianapolis.
