Tab Recreation Ministry

Tab Recreation Field Improvements are Nearly Complete!

In 2008, Tab Community Services, Inc. (TCSI) led the first phase of the Fertile Ground Capital Campaign to improve the safety and function of Tab Field by adding state-of-the-art artificial turf, a running track, lighting, and interior and perimeter fencing. Now, TCSI is executing Phase II in order to renovate Tab Field’s supporting infrastructure in a way that improves the user experience and better meets the needs of the community (Mid-North Quality of Life Plan, Action Items 10.5.1 and 10.5.2).

This capital project means much more than improved facilities (see image below); it will provide lasting benefits for program participants, volunteers, and staff as well as participants’ families and the greater neighborhood. The project includes:

Demolition of existing infrastructure
Required utility and storm sewer system upgrades
Stadium-style seating for 280 fans
Elevated press box
Concessions facilities
Community gathering spaces
On-site office
On-site storage spaces
Handicap accessible design prioritizing ramps over stairs

Here’s a video update on the new improvements.

Tab Recreation Ministry

For 90 years, Tab Recreation has provided a safe place for boys and girls to participate in a variety of sports and recreational activities. Besides learning fundamentals, children learn the value of hard work, sportsmanship, team play and faith in Christ.
