How to Join a Committee
It’s easy to explore committee service at Tab. Here’s how:
- Reach out to the Elder responsible for the committee to learn more about its purpose and current goals.
- Attend 1–2 meetings as a guest to get a feel for the group’s work and dynamics.
- Confirm your interest with the Elder and become a regular member if it feels like the right fit.
We ask that you prayerfully consider how your time, gifts, and interests might support the work of the church in this way.

Additional Information
- Maximum Committee Size – In 2024, Session recommended that Committee membership be capped at 12 individuals. This is meant to enhance effective functioning of committees as well as to encourage individuals to consider serving on other lesser served committees.
- Committee Terms – Generally flexible; members may serve as long as they feel called to do so and believe that they can actively participate in helping the committee to reach its goals. Session also recommended that Elders leading committees seek new members occasionally in order to infuse new ideas and energy into the committee.
- HR Committee – Membership is limited to Session members and the Senior Pastor.
Next Steps
If you’re interested in joining a committee, check out the list above and email the Elder or Staff representative for more information. You’ll be welcomed to explore, observe, and discern if it’s the right place for your gifts.
