Planning a Visit?
Tabernacle Presbyterian Church is located at the corner of 34th Street and Central Avenue on the north side of Indianapolis. Inside the beautiful Gothic sanctuary, you will find a friendly, welcoming congregation. Here’s what to expect when you visit.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of parking available in the parking lot north of the church. Enter the lot off of Central Avenue and come in to the church via the glass doors under the canopy. Ask one of the friendly greeters for directions to the sanctuary, or just follow the signs. Many people prefer to park on the south side of the church along 34th Street or across the street in the Raphael Health Center lot. The advantage of parking here, is that you can enter the sanctuary as the architects intended, through the main doors and center aisle–a truly memorable experience.
What should I wear?
While some like to dress in their “Sunday best,” many more subscribe to the idea that one should “come as you are.” However you are dressed, we encourage you to be comfortable!
What are your worship services like?
Tab’s campus can appear imposing, but guests quickly settle in to the warm and beautiful confines of our worship spaces. (Worship in July and August is at 8:00 and 10:00 am.) From September through June Tab has three distinct worship services on Sunday morning. The 8:00 am Worship Service in McKee Chapel is a traditional yet informal service of holy communion. With well-known hymns and beautiful organ music, this service offers an intimate setting for scriptural teaching, a message from the pastor and communion every Sunday. The sanctuary comes to life on Sundays at 9:00 am for the Upper Room Worship Service, featuring a variety of expressions of contemporary worship through praise music, the arts, shared prayer and teaching from scripture in a Christ-focused community of believers. At 11:00 am, Tab’s soaring Gothic sanctuary fills with beloved hymns, choral anthems and organ music in a traditional service centered on teaching and preaching from scripture.
Is there a Sunday School hour?
At 10:00 am, a variety of Christian Education classes are offered for adults, youth and children. Check out the “Adult Ministries” page on this site.
What about the kids?
Children are welcome to sit with parents during worship, or they may go to their age-appropriate classes. Learn more about Sunday mornings for children.
